How to set the Spam Message Attachment Policy

An existing SiteWorx account.

Purpose

When an e-mail message is tagged as Spam, there are a few different ways the Spam tagging software can alter the message format.

The first option is to make to changes at all to the spam-tagged message, and deliver it as normal mail.

The second option is to create a new “report” message, and attach the original message as an attachment to this new message.

The third option is to create a new report, and attach the original message in “text only” mode. This can make opening attachments in the spam-tagged message difficult, which may be considered a good thing for the average user, since attachments on messages that are probably spam may be harmful, especially if the message is a virus.

Procedure - Set rhe Spam Delivery Setting

  1. Click on the Site Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    E-Mail submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    Spam Settings item.
  4. You should now be looking at the E-mail Management : SpamAssassin Configuration controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the Message Attachment Policy section
  6. Select the behavior you want to use from the three available radio buttons.
  7. Click the Submit button directly below those options.
