Terminate a Running Query

Purpose

This will detail how to terminate a currently running MySQL query. Terminating an individual query can be useful if a query is running for too long or is producing unintended consequences.

Procedure - Terminate a Running MySQL Query

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    MySQL Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    Overview item.
  4. You should now be looking at the MySQL Server Management controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the Current MySQL Processes section.
  6. If there are no active or running processes, you will see No active MySQL Processes / Queries.
  7. If processes/queries are listed, select the ones you wish to terminate.
  8. Select Terminate from the drop-down list.
  9. You will see the following message near the top of the screen: » MySQL processes successfully terminated.
