How To Enable and Disable SMTP Virus Scanning

Purpose

The following procedures explain how to use InterWorx-CP to enable and disable STMP virus scanning.

Procedure - Enable SMTP Virus Scanning

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    Mail Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    Virus Filtering item.
  4. You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: Virus Filter Settings controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the ClamAV Options section.
  6. Select Enabled from the drop-down list labeled SMTP Virus Scanning
  7. Click the Update button.
  8. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » ClamAV options updated successfully.

 If the ClamAV and Freshclam daemons are stopped when you enable STMP virus scanning, they will be automatically started.

Procedure - Disable SMTP Virus Scanning

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    Mail Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    Virus Filtering item.
  4. You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: Virus Filter Settings controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the ClamAV Options section.
  6. Select Disabled from the drop-down list labeled SMTP Virus Scanning
  7. Click the Update button.
  8. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » ClamAV options updated successfully
  9. The status of the ClamAV and Freshclam daemons will change to Stopped.
