Last Updated for InterWorx-CP version 3.0.1

Purpose

This procedure will detail how to enable shell access for an InterWorx-CP shell user.

Procedure - Enable a Shell User

  1. Click on the SiteWorx menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    Shell Users item.
  3. You should now be looking at the Shell Account Management controls in the main content area.
  4. Mark the user(s) you wish to enable shell access for in the SiteWorx Shell Users or the System Shell Users section.
  5. Select Enable from the dropdown box at the bottom of the section.
  6. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen:
    » Setting shell password to SiteWorx password : examplecom
    » Updating user shell : examplecom -> /bin/bash
    » SiteWorx shell account enabled successfully : abccom

 When enabling a user’s shell, three distinct operations are performed. The shell user’s password is set to the SiteWorx account password, the user’s shell is updated to the default shell setting, and the account is enabled.
