Billing Day Examples
Change the Billing Day to a Day After the Current Billing Day
If the day that you choose for the billing day is after the current billing day, the billing period will end on the day before the billing day at 11:59 p.m. and the new billing period will start at 12:00 a.m. on the billing day. The start of the billing period is not changed, therefore changing the billing day to a day later than the current one will result in an elongated billing period.
Example - Billing Day Set to 14 (the 14th of every month)
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 | Sep. 14th, 12:00 a.m. | Oct. 13th, 11:59 p.m. |
Now, if you change your billing day to 22, current billing period will adjust as follows:
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 22 | Sep. 14th, 12:00 a.m. | Oct. 21st, 11:59 p.m. |
The following billing period will be back to the normal set of time and run as follows:
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 22 | Oct. 22nd, 12:00 a.m. | Nov. 21st, 11:59 p.m. |
This is an example of an elongated billing period. The bandwidth counters will not reset to 0 until the new period begins at 12:00 a.m. October 22nd.
Change the Billing Day to a Day Before the Current Billing Day
If the day that you choose for the billing day is before the current billing day, the billing period will end on the day before the billing day at 11:59 p.m. and the new billing period will start at 12:00 a.m. on the billing day. The start of the billing period is not changed, therefore changing the billing day to an earlier day than the current one will result in a shortened billing period.
Example - Billing Day Set to 14 (the 14th of every month)
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 | Sep. 14th, 12:00 a.m. | Oct. 13th, 11:59 p.m. |
Now, if you change your billing day to 7, current billing period will adjust as follows:
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | Sep. 14th, 12:00 a.m. | Oct. 6th, 11:59 p.m. |
The following billing period will be back to the normal set of time and run as follows:
| Billing Day | Period Start | Period End | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | Oct. 7th, 12:00 a.m. | Nov. 6th, 11:59 p.m. |
This is an example of a shortened billing period. The bandwidth counters will not reset to 0 until the new period begins at 12:00 a.m. October 7th.
| In either case, the start of the current billing period never changes. |
