InterWorx-CP uses the Qmail MTA, and the Vpopmail MDA.

MTA Settings
The MTA is the part of the mail server which transfers mail data to and from other mail servers. InterWorx uses the Qmail MTA.
From the MTA Settings screen in NodeWorx, you can:
- SMTP Server Status:
- View the status of the inbound SMTP server
- Start, Stop, Restart the inbound SMTP server
- View the status of the outbound SMTP server
- Start, Stop, Restart the outbound SMTP server
Alternate Inbound SMTP Server:
- View the status of the alternate inbound SMTP server
- Start, Stop, Restart the alternate inbound SMTP server
- Specify the port of the alternate inbound SMTP server (Default 587)
MTA Server Information:
- View the current MTA server version
- Toggle MTA Server RRD Graphs: On/Off
MTA Server Options:
- Specify MTA Server Host Name
- (the name the MTA server advertises as it’s name, the contents of /var/qmail/control/me )
- Specify Default Domain
MTA Bounce Message Options:
- Specify Bounce From address
- Specify Bounce From Host
- Toggle Double Bounce Messages enable/disable
- Specify Double Bounce To (user)
- Specify Double Bounce Host (domain)
MTA SMTP Options (inbound):
- Specify SMTP Greeting (contents of /var/qmail/control/smtpgreeting )
- Specify Max Inbound Connections (default 20)
- Specify Timeout (default 1200 seconds)
- Specify Max Message Size in bytes (Default 0 for unlimited)
- Specify MTA Level E-mail Address Blacklist:
- Specify Realtime (SBL) Blacklists: (bl.spamcop.net is included by default, but can be removed)
MTA SMTP Options (outbound):
- Specify Outbound Connections (max.): (Default 255)
- Specify Response Timeout: (default 10 seconds)
- Specify Connect Timeout (default 60 seconds)
- Specify Queue Lifetime: (default 604800 seconds)

MDA Settings:
The MDA is the part of the mail server which delivers mail sent to the server to the appropriate mail user. InterWorx uses the Vpopmail MDA.
From the MTA Settings screen in NodeWorx, you can:
- MDA Server (POP3) Status:
- View the status of the POP3 server
- Start, Stop, Restart the POP3 server
- View the status of the Secure POP3 server
- Start, Stop, Restart the Secure POP3 server
MDA Server Information [POP3]
- View POP3 Version
- Specify POP3 Memory Limit (default 6400000 bytes)
- Specify Max POP3 Connections (default 200)
- Specify POP3 Memory Limit (default 2560000 bytes)
- Specify Max Secure POP3 Connections (default 0 for unlimited)
MDA Server (IMAP) Status:
- View the status of the IMAP server
- Start, Stop, Restart the IMAP server
- View the status of the Secure IMAP server
- Start, Stop, Restart the Secure IMAP server
- MDA Server Information [IMAP]
View IMAP Version:
- Specify IMAP Memory Limit (default 10400000 bytes)
- Specify Max IMAP Connections (default 0 for unlimited)

- Specify Max Secure IMAP Connections (default 0 for unlimited)
SPAM Filtering (SpamAssassin)
SpamAssassin is a popular open sourceSPAM filtering utility which is fully integrated into InterWorx-CP.
Spam Assassin Control and Information:
- View SpamAssassin Status
- Start, Stop, or Restart the SpamAssassin service
- View SpamAssassin Version
SpamAssassin Options:
- Enable/Disable SMTP Level Scanning:
- Specify SPAM Threshold (default 25)
- Specify Rewrite Header Subject:
- Select Reporting Method:
- Add X-SPAM Header,
- Attach Original (default), or
- Attach Plain Text
- Enable/Disable Default Whitelisting (default: enable)
Bayesian Scanning Options:
- Enable/Disable Bayes Scanning (default enabled)

- Enable/Disable Bayes IMAP Training (using HAM/SPAM IMAP Folder Scanner) (default: enabled)

Virus Filtering (SimScan):
SimScan is the email scanning component of the popular open source ClamAV, anti-virus scanner.

- Enable/Disable SMTP Virus Scanning
Freshclam Control:
- View ClamAV service status
- Start, Stop, or Restart the ClamAV service
- Toggle Start on Boot Up Yes/No (default: yes)
Virus Definition Information:
- View date, time, and virus definition quantity for daily.cdv file

NodeWorx’s Mail Queue screen provides easy access to both your local and remote mail queue.

Aliases
Lists are addresses which point to another address. The email is forwarded seamlesly to any single address. For example if your company has a CEO named Bob Smith, and han email address bobsmith@yourcompany.com, you can create an alias entitled ceo@yourcompany.com which points to bobsmith@mycompany.com. The destination email address does not need to be on the same domain or even on the same server. Clients can send webmaster@mysite.com email to their ISP or third party webmail address.
Lists
Lists are aliases which have more than one recipient. For example you can create a list sales@yourcompany.com to send sales info to every member of your sales team.
Autoresponders
Autoresponders are addresses which return a set text when they receive an email. For example faq@yourcompany.com can return your company’s faq, newsletters can return back issues of their newsletter, etc. The text must be pasted into a box in the interface.
Mail Filters
An email filter tells the system how to handle specific mail as identified either by subject or sending address. There are two options, delete message or send to IMAP SPAM folder (if it exists).
You can:
- Create SPAM Filter based upon Email Address
- Create SPAM Filter based upon Email Subject
- View all Email Sender Filters
- View all Email Subject Filters
Spam Settings:
- Toggle domain level SpamAssassin Status on/off
- Specify SPAM delivery preference (deliver to IMAP Spam Folder OR delete messages with a SPAM threshold higher than a set number (default 15)
- Specify SPAM Score Threshold: 5 Aggressive, 7 Less Aggressive, 10 Conservative or Custom
- Specify Rewrite Message Subject
- Custom (default *****SPAM*****) or
- Do Not Change Message Subject
Webmail
The webmail link provides direct login to Horde, the default webmail client.
