Licensing FAQ
Can I try InterWorx-CP before I buy it?
Yes, there are three options available to you
- InterWorx-CP has an online demo.
- InterWorx-CP offers a free single domain license for testing purposes. This license can easily be updated to the full unlimited domain license should you choose to buy. Please send the following info to sales if you would like to take advantage of this: Name, Company, Street Address, City, State, Zip/Postal code, Country (if outside the US) and telephone number.
The single domain license is fully functional with the exception of the clustering feature and multidomain. We do not currently offer a try-before-you-buy for clustering.
The single domain license only has 1 email address (postmaster@domain.com), 1 ftp account (ftp@domain.com), and domain available. Other email addresses, ftp accounts or domains cannot be added.
Can I try InterWorx-CP's clustering feature before I buy it?
No, we do not currently offer a try-before-you-buy for clustering. However, you can purchase a LEASED license for each server in your cluster and if you find that it does not suit your needs it is fully refundable within the first 30 days.
How much does InterWorx-CP cost?
Please visit our Order page for current pricing.
What is the duration of the free single domain license period?
A single-domain license is free and does not expire.
I'm using the free single domain license and am ready to buy. How do I proceed?
You have two choices:
- You can contact our sales department and we can upgrade your existing key to an unlimited domain key and generate an invoice for you. When this is done all you have to do is sync the license
~iworx/cron/license.pex --sync
- You can get a new license key
- order a new license key from our website
- open
/hom/interworx/iworx.iniin your favorite text editor - locate the line
key=<<your license>> - replace your existing license key with the new one
- close and save the file
- sync the license by executing the following command as root:
~iworx/cron/license.pex --sync
We recommend users take the first option, however if you do the second you can keep the single domain license to use for testing on another server.
Can the free single domain license key be upgraded to a full Unlimited Domain License?
Yes, just contact the sales department and we will be glad to do that for you.
Are there any limitations on the single domain license you give out for testing?
The only limitations on the single domain license is that clustering and multidomain are not available. You need an unlimited domain license for clustering and since it is a single domain (not SiteWorx account) license that deactivates the multidomain feature. All other features -- including ssl, as long as the domain in question is put on a dedicated IP -- are available for you to try.
The single domain license only has 1 email address (postmaster@domain.com) and 1 ftp account (ftp@domain.com) available. Other email addresses, secondary domains, or ftp accounts cannot be added.
I have a demo license and ssl does not seem to work. What's wrong?
SSL does work on the demo license, but a few requirements need to be satisfied. In order to use SSL certificates, the SiteWorx account must be on a dedicated IP address, and you need to turn on “SSL” in the package options of the account. If the IP is shared (set on the IP Management page in NodeWorx), or if the SiteWorx account doesn’t have the SSL package option enabled, the SSL menu in SiteWorx will be hidden.
Your website says your panel is a clustering panel, but I do not see the clustering functionality in your online demo. What's up?
The demo is not currently set up on a clustered box.
How do I change the IP that my InterWorx license is bound to?
Direct Clients can reset the license IP for any of their license keys by following the steps in the following How To:
Am I allowed to redistribute/translate the contents of the InterWorx website and documentation?
Yes, all information contained on the InterWorx.com website (both docs and root site) are authorized for duplication and translation into other languages. A link back to interworx.com is requested but not required.
Do you have any Powered By InterWorx or Managed By InterWorx-CP buttons?
Yes, on our Logos page.
Why does InterWorx-CP need to contact the licensing server four times a day?
The product needs to contact a licensing server to enforce licenses. Anyone can download our software, the only thing that guarantees it has been paid for is the periodic license check.
If the license does expire, then the InterWorx software displays an error page rather than what you would normally see. Websites, e-mail, ftp, etc are not affected if a license expires, only the control panel itself and with it you ability to configure your website features.
